Luxury Hotel Director of Catering & Events Job Duties
- Lead and inspire the Catering and Event Sales & Planning Team to exceed luxury service standards
- Implement strategic commercial initiatives and monitor for best-in-class results
- Collaborate with operations and sales to deliver high-impact, creative event experiences
- Serve as the hotel’s subject matter expert on event execution and guest experience
- Maintain high service standards through continuous process reviews
- Represent the hotel in industry associations and networking events
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and cost reporting
- Oversee use of all event spaces and manage vendor relationships
- Support team development through career planning, succession strategies, and mentorship
- Participate in site inspections and assist with sales processes as needed
- Stay current on event trends and integrate innovative practices
Luxury Hotel Director of Catering & Events Job Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Department Head leading a team
- Minimum 2 years of Catering Sales and 2 years of Event Planning experience
- Experience in a 4 Diamond hotel/resort environment required
- High school diploma or equivalent required; 4-year college degree preferred
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage complex programs with attention to detail and a positive attitude
- Proficiency in Delphi, Excel, and Word
- Significant food & beverage knowledge and ability to collaborate on custom menus
- Ability to travel within designated markets
- Analytical skills for data-driven decision-making
- Ability to manage conflict and foster a productive team environment
- Passion for luxury hospitality and guest-centric service
