Business Development Manager – Industrial Manufacturing
Overview
A leading organization in the industrial manufacturing sector is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth and expand market presence. This role will serve as the commercial lead, focusing on System sales within the Industrial Market. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in business development, sales leadership, and relationship management, with a proven track record of closing multi-million-dollar programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead sales and business development initiatives across services, working with cross-functional teams to deliver customer solutions.
- Identify, qualify, and pursue profitable business opportunities by targeting ideal customer profiles.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure alignment and success.
- Develop account strategies that create long-term value for both the organization and its clients.
- Stay informed on industry trends and competition to influence business development and marketing strategies.
- Support quoting activities, including margin reviews and resource allocation.
- Drive the development and management of a robust sales pipeline through both direct and indirect sales channels.
- Participate in monthly reviews of financial performance and provide insight into revenue growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with leadership teams to refine and execute strategic business development plans.
- Review and execute key legal agreements such as NDAs and MSAs.
- Maintain accurate pipeline management and reporting in Salesforce (or similar CRM tools).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; concentration in engineering or technical field is strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive sales or business development experience within manufacturing (medical device or industrial market experience strongly preferred).
- Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of industrial markets and trends.
- Travel up to 25%
