Overview
We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Structural Engineering Design Division. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Jacksonville, FL. The ideal candidate brings 15+ years of experience, holds a Professional Engineer (PE) license, and has a strong background in DoD design projects.
This role is ideal for a seasoned, technically strong, and team-oriented engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment and takes pride in quality, mentorship, and long-term project impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead structural engineering design for government and military facilities (Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Army Corps).
- Perform structural analysis, prepare calculations, and generate detailed drawings using Revit, RISA, TEDDS, and related tools.
- Coordinate design work with architects, engineers, construction professionals, and subcontractors.
- Review submittals and RFIs and support construction administration.
- Mentor junior staff and promote internal design standards and procedures.
- Ensure full compliance with DoD design requirements and federal standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (must be eligible for Florida PE registration)
- 15+ years of structural engineering experience
- Current employment of at least 2 consecutive years with present employer
- Demonstrated tenure and stability across prior roles
- Proficiency in Revit, RISA Suite (Floor, 3D, Foundation), TEDDS, and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (must have legal authorization to work in the U.S.)
Preferred Experience
- Prior structural engineering work for Department of Defense (DoD) projects
- Familiarity with EM-385, UFC, and federal/military design codes and criteria
