Kitchen Expeditor – High Volume Restaurant
We’re seeking an experienced and organized Kitchen Expeditor to act as the key liaison between the back-of-house and front-of-house teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This role is critical to ensuring seamless communication, food quality, and timely service.
Kitchen Expeditor – High Volume Restaurant Responsibilities
- Act as the communication bridge between the kitchen line and service staff, ensuring smooth coordination during peak hours
- Review and manage all incoming food tickets for accuracy, timing, and presentation standards
- Prioritize and pace orders to ensure timely delivery while maintaining quality and consistency
- Inspect completed dishes for proper plating, temperature, and adherence to spec before they leave the kitchen
- Work closely with chefs, line cooks, and servers to solve timing issues or special requests
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient expediting station throughout service
- Support the kitchen team with organizing takeout and delivery orders when applicable
Kitchen Expeditor – High Volume Restaurant Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Expeditor or in a similar role in a high-volume or fast-paced kitchen environment
- Strong communication and coordination skills with both BOH and FOH
- Keen eye for detail and ability to uphold food quality and presentation standards
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities under pressure
- Familiarity with kitchen operations and ticket management systems (e.g., POS/KDS systems)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a high-stress, high-energy environment
