Director of Front Office – Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of direct hotel Front Office experience in a leadership role
- Strong background in staff training, supervision, and performance management
- Availability to work 50 hours per week, including weekends and holidays
- Excellent communication, guest service, and conflict resolution skills
- Proficiency in hotel systems (PMS) and reporting tools
- Ability to maintain a polished, professional 4-diamond presentation
- Proven ability to manage guest concerns calmly and effectively
Must Haves
- Oversee daily operations of Front Office and Guest Services, ensuring operational excellence and adherence to brand standards
- Ensure completion and accuracy of registration cards, credit checks, rate discrepancy reports, and checkout balance reports
- Assign and block guest arrivals with attention to VIPs, Select Guests, ESPs, and special requests
- Lead and reinforce continued training efforts with all associates, including MOS & POE programs
- Collaborate with Assistant Front Office Managers and communicate key updates during shift transitions
- Troubleshoot hotel computer system issues and maintain system knowledge for effective training and maintenance
- Handle guest complaints with professionalism, turning challenges into opportunities for service recovery
- Participate in scheduling and monitor payroll productivity to maintain labor efficiency
- Attend departmental and property-wide meetings as designated by the Director of Operations
Director of Front Office – Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience in luxury or 4-diamond hotel settings
- Familiarity with Opera or similar PMS platforms
- Degree or certification in Hospitality Management is a plus
- Bilingual capabilities (especially Spanish or French) preferred
- Experience developing and rolling out service excellence programs
- Strong cross-departmental collaboration skills
