Dry Food Sales Director – Requirements & Qualifications
- 7–10 years of experience in food sales, with a focus on importing and distributing products such as cashew nuts, sesame seeds, or other dry commodities
- Demonstrated success in launching and scaling imported food brands or commodity lines in the U.S. market
- Established buyer relationships across retail, foodservice, industrial, distribution, and ethnic markets
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build sales systems, infrastructure, and processes from scratch
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Proficient in CRM platforms, sales tracking tools, and Microsoft Office suite
- Willingness to travel domestically for client meetings, trade shows, and industry events
Dry Food Sales Director – Preferred Background & Skills
- Direct sourcing experience from East Africa, GCC countries, Vietnam, Turkey, or South Africa
- Familiarity with U.S. import regulations, FDA requirements, and customs clearance processes
- Experience introducing and positioning imported dry food products into wholesale, retail, foodservice, and industrial channels
- Background in startup or high-growth business environments
- Comfortable leading cross-functional initiatives involving operations, logistics, and marketing
