Executive Sous Chef – Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a full-service kitchen (restaurant/hotel)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as Sous Chef or culinary leadership
- High school diploma or GED (Culinary degree a plus)
- Working knowledge of mother sauces, butchering techniques, and specialized kitchen equipment
- Advanced knife skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Must be 18+ and able to pass a rigorous background check
Must Haves
- Lead by example in quality, presentation, and guest satisfaction
- Oversee daily kitchen functions, ensuring policy and food safety compliance
- Mentor and train a team of Sous Chefs, Cooks, and Kitchen Stewards
- Partner with Inventory Coordinators to maintain par levels and reduce waste
- Execute complex cooking assignments and contribute to menu development
- Evaluate culinary operations through data analysis (inventory, cost reports, POS transactions)
Preferred Background & Skills
- Associate degree in Culinary Arts
- Previous experience in a gaming, hotel or resort-based hospitality environment
- Experience launching new venues or working in start-up kitchens
- Culturally sensitive with a collaborative and enthusiastic leadership style
