Head Bread Baker
We’re on the lookout for a talented and dedicated Lead Bread Baker to craft outstanding artisan breads for our retail locations, catering services, and wholesale clients. This is a hands-on, production-focused role that emphasizes traditional bread-making methods: sourdough, baguettes, focaccia, and other specialty loaves made with exceptional ingredients in a fast-paced, high-output kitchen.
As a key part of our baking team, you’ll collaborate closely with our senior bread leadership to uphold consistency, enhance efficiency, and bring creativity to the process, all while contributing to a clean, safe, and team-oriented work culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, shape, ferment, and bake a variety of artisan breads to high-quality standards
- Support all stages of bread production—from mixing to baking—with precision and care
- Monitor dough condition, fermentation, and final bakes for consistency and excellence
- Operate and maintain commercial baking tools and equipment (mixers, ovens, proofers, etc.)
- Keep a sanitary, organized, and compliant kitchen workspace
- Report inventory needs and ingredient usage to the kitchen manager
- Work in sync with the kitchen and delivery teams to meet daily production targets
- Offer feedback and ideas for improving systems, techniques, and recipes
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of hands-on bread baking experience, preferably in a high-volume bakery
- Proficiency with traditional methods, especially sourdough fermentation
- Good understanding of baking science, including dough development and ingredient roles
- Detail-oriented, punctual, and able to manage time well in a dynamic kitchen setting
- Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long periods
- Team player with a positive attitude and strong communication skills
