An exciting new restaurant group is launching its flagship high-volume, upscale restaurant in Virginia Beach, blending elevated cuisine, exceptional service, and a vibrant, energetic atmosphere. As we prepare for our grand opening, we are seeking a driven, experienced Executive Sous Chef and Sous Chef to join our opening team and help shape the heart of our kitchen.
About the Role:
As Executive Sous Chef or Sous Chef, you will partner with the Executive Chef in leading all back-of-house operations, maintaining the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and cleanliness. You’ll be instrumental in managing a high-energy kitchen during peak volume, mentoring culinary staff, and ensuring seamless execution from prep to plate.
What You’ll Do:
- Support daily kitchen operations and oversee line execution with precision and passion
- Lead, train, and motivate the culinary team to uphold excellence in execution, presentation, and food safety
- Help manage inventory, ordering, labor, and food cost control
- Play a key role in building a positive, collaborative kitchen culture
What We’re Looking For:
- 3–5+ years of experience in a high-volume, upscale or fine-dining kitchen
- Proven ability to lead and inspire teams in fast-paced environments
- Strong culinary technique, palate, and attention to detail
- Experience with new restaurant openings, a major plus
- Passion, professionalism, and a hands-on leadership style
