- Oversee the preparation of engineering plans, construction documents, technical reports, and permit applications.
- Serve as a technical mentor to junior and mid-level engineers; promote quality assurance and encourage team development.
- Manage stakeholder communication, including coordination with municipal staff, utility companies, developers, architects, planners, and environmental consultants.
- Guide projects through local entitlement and environmental permitting processes, ensuring full compliance with applicable zoning, stormwater, and DEP or similar regulatory requirements.
- Provide oversight during construction phases including layout interpretation, RFI resolution, and coordination with site contractors.
- Maintain budgetary control and ensure timelines are met while balancing high standards of design and client service.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum 12 years of civil engineering experience with a focus on land development (residential and/or commercial)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required (in any U.S. state; PA preferred if applicable to location)
- Strong knowledge of site design, utility coordination, grading and drainage, permitting, and regulatory compliance
- Experience managing both technical deliverables and project teams
- Proficiency in industry software such as Civil 3D; familiarity with Carlson Civil Suite or similar platforms is a plus
- Clear understanding of zoning ordinances, development codes, and stormwater regulations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to build client relationships
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for occasional site visits
What's In It For You:
- Competitive Salary: $130K – 175K (DEO) + Great Benefits package
- Confidential opportunity to step into senior-level leadership
- Exposure to diverse, high-value projects across residential and commercial sectors
- Collaborative, experienced technical team
- Mileage reimbursement for site visits
