Responsibilities:
- Collaborate across teams to influence engineering efforts, ensuring technical decisions align with divisional strategic objectives.
- Work with stakeholders to ensure technical solutions support overall business goals.
- Lead large-scale technical initiatives, resolve complex engineering challenges, and deliver scalable, secure systems.
- Provide mentorship and support to engineers, fostering their professional growth and helping them overcome technical obstacles.
- Partner with Architects to design and implement robust, system-level solutions in accordance with company standards.
- Promote and establish engineering best practices across teams to ensure consistency and high quality in all technical deliverables.
- Contribute to shaping the organization’s technology strategy, aligning innovation with business needs and scalability considerations.
- Identify and address technical debt to improve long-term maintainability.
Requirments:
- BA in Computer Science or related field.
- 8+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails for back-end development.
- Extensive experience building and maintaining high-throughput backend services and APIs at scale.
- Familiarity with other technologies such as, Kafka, Postgres, Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, Github.
- Experience with AWS services like RDS, ElastiCache, CloudSearch, etc is a plus.
Desired Qualities
- Leadership and mentorship abilities to guide both onshore and offshore teams.
- Experience working with multiple tech stacks and overseeing software maintenance.
- Proven experience with cloud-based, low-downtime applications and microservices architectures.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and continuous integration environments.
