Our client is a manufacturer of customized switchboards with a long and exciting history. They are primed for aggressive expansion into new and existing markets. We are seeking a hands-on Manager to oversee engineering projects and manage a team of design engineers.
Manager of Engineering, Medium Voltage Qualifications:
- BS Electrical Engineering preferred
- 10+ years experience in Engineering, preferably working in electrical or instrumentation engineering
- space, sheet metal electrical enclosure design and fabrication
- 3+ years of demonstrated leadership experience managing or leading others
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (Inventor or similar software, a plus)
- High proficiency reading technical drawings like control wiring schematics and project specifications
- Deep understanding of Medium voltage standards for metal clad and metal enclosed switchgear
- Familiarity with industry standards for medium voltage control components use and implementations
Manager of Engineering, Medium Voltage Product Responsibilities:
- Hands-on management of teams of CAD Drafters, Mechanical and Electrical Design Engineers
- Develop and maintain Key Performance Indicators and standards for design procedures
- Coordinate and Delegate work jobs as needed and ensure completion with accuracy and quality standards being met in accordance with project deadlines and customer expectations
- Coaching, goal setting, appraisals, and compensation recommendations for a team of direct reports
- Identify and support training needs for the team, and ongoing development of continuous improvement of processes.
- Support testing and quality control of completed products prior to customer delivery. Strategic planning of all engineering needs and uncovering new markets and customers
- Standardize programs of the Medium voltage product line, which include metal enclosed and metal clad switchgear
