We are seeking a Director of Development who will work closely with our CEO and Chief Partnership Officer to cultivate strong, positive, long-term relationships with corporations, community partners, foundations, and other stakeholders to secure major gifts that align with our organization’s mission and strategic goals.
Director of Development Requirements:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of foundation, corporate and fundraising experience
- Proven track record of raising at least $1 million in gifts, grants, and/or corporate sponsorships.
- Experience in budget development and an understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Ability to work seamlessly in a team environment while independently driving fundraising initiatives.
- Utilize metrics for new donor identification, donor outreach and engagement, fundraising targets, donor reporting, , as needed.
- Preferred: Experience in non-profit fundraising
- Preferred: Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) or Certified Specialist in Planned Giving (CSPG).
Director of Development Duties:
- Research, design and implement comprehensive fundraising initiatives.
- Ensure the on-time submission and creation of all proposals and reports to stakeholders.
- Create and execute a strategic plan for donor cultivation and solicitation.
- Develop fundraising materials, donor appeals, reports, newsletters, and community presentations and social media campaigns.
- Collaborate with the Chief Partnership Officer to align annual fundraising strategies and growth goals.
- Stay updated on philanthropic trends and best practices and anticipate new opportunities as needed.
