Akiba Yavneh Academy, a leading Modern Orthodox Jewish Day School, is seeking a passionate and dedicated High School AP Math and Calculus Teacher to join our dynamic lower school team. What You'll Do
- Teach introductory and upper-level courses in Pre-Calculus, AP Math Courses, as well as advanced topics from your area of expertise.
- Create a warm, inclusive, and respectful classroom culture that reflects AYA’s commitment to academic excellence and character development.
- Design engaging lessons that integrate technology, executive functioning, and social-emotional learning (SEL) practices.
- Monitor and assess student growth through formative and summative assessments, providing timely and individualized feedback.
- Collaborate closely with fellow educators, learning specialists, and school leadership to support each student’s success.
- Maintain open and effective communication with parents and guardians.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to the life of the school community.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Valid teaching certification or equivalent experience in High School or College-level math.
- Five or more years of experience in teaching upper school math.
- Familiarity with best practices in literacy instruction, inquiry-based learning, and differentiated teaching strategies.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Passion for fostering a love of learning, building relationships with students, and meeting diverse learning needs.
- Understanding of Jewish values and traditions is a plus, but not required.
