Fire Alarm Service Technician
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Service Technician to join our Service Department. This role is essential in providing expert support for diagnosing, servicing, and occasionally installing low voltage systems. The technician will primarily focus on fire alarm systems, access control, and video surveillance equipment, helping ensure optimal system performance and customer satisfaction.
Fire Alarm Service Technician Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain low voltage systems including fire alarms, access control, and CCTV/video surveillance.
- Assist with the installation of conduit, wiring, and related devices for low voltage systems.
- Accurately diagnose issues and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with applicable codes, industry standards, and safety regulations.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, providing updates and explaining solutions as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Collaborate with internal departments to support project needs and customer requests.
Fire Alarm Service Technician Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience with low voltage systems (fire alarm, access control, CCTV)
- Basic knowledge of tools, materials, and methods used in low voltage installations and service
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Preferred
- NICET Certification (Fire Alarm Systems or related)
- Experience with a variety of fire alarm and access control systems (e.g., Notifier, Honeywell, Bosch, etc.)
- Formal training in electronics or low-voltage systems
