A growing, well-regarded accounting firm is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Public Accountant to join their team in a full-time, in-office capacity. This role will focus heavily on client accounting services—such as financial reporting, reconciliations, and advisory support—rather than tax preparation. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting principles, thrives in a client-facing environment, and brings at least five years of experience in a public accounting setting.
Accountant Qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience in public accounting or client-focused bookkeeping
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (required)
- Experience mentoring and reviewing work of less experienced staff
- Proficient with Thomson Reuters, QuickBooks Online/Desktop, and Microsoft Excel
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and intermediate accounting principles
- Skilled in managing multiple accounts and meeting deadlines
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently
- Prior experience with financial statement preparation and account reconciliations
Accountant Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations for multiple clients, including AR, AP, and general ledger
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
- Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger entries to ensure accurate financial records
- Assist clients with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis
- Provide proactive financial support and respond to client inquiries professionally
- Participate in month-end and year-end close processes
- Support process improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with accounting standards
- Collaborate with team members to deliver consistent, high-quality service
- Prepare and review business tax returns
Accountant Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $90,000 – $120,000 depending on experience
