Job Title: Executive Catering Chef
Location: Charlotte, NC
Role Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Executive Catering Chef to oversee all culinary aspects of off-premise catering events. This role requires a proactive leader who thrives in high-volume environments and can consistently deliver exceptional food and service standards. The ideal candidate has extensive off-site catering experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to lead a dynamic team under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all culinary operations for off-premise catering events, ensuring adherence to quality, consistency, and brand standards
- Manage back-of-house (BOH) staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management
- Collaborate with the Catering Manager to align logistics, timelines, and service expectations for each event
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards across all mobile and off-site kitchens
- Oversee event execution: packing, transport, setup, service, and breakdown
- Ensure timely production and execution of all menu items per recipe and presentation specifications
- Maintain event inventory, monitor food cost, and minimize waste
- Serve as a brand ambassador at events, maintaining a polished and professional demeanor at all times
- Proactively identify and address any culinary or operational issues during events
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional catering experience; at least 2 years in an Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef capacity
- Must have off-premise catering experience (corporate events, weddings, private functions, etc.)
- Proven ability to lead high-volume events in dynamic environments
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to maintain composure and leadership under pressure
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
- Professional appearance and conduct
- ServSafe certification (preferred)
