Assistant Director of Project Management Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, facilities management, or a similar field
- 10+ years of experience with facilities management
- Valid driver’s license
- Preferred Qualifications
- Trades or operations background
- Experience and certifications in sustainability or high-performance buildings
- Experience in a complex campus environment, ideally higher education
- Experience in commissioning and project management
- Experience with planned and preventive maintenance programs and systems
Assistant Director of Project Management Responsibilities:
- Serve as the operational lead for capital project turnover from the project management team to operations
- Develop and implement standardized turnover processes, including checklists, documentation requirements, and training protocols
- Provide leadership and guidance to ensure project deliverables align with long-term operational success
- Ensure the quality and completeness of all turnover materials, including asset documentation and operational readiness
- Lead cross-functional coordination to ensure a smooth and collaborative transition to operations
- Oversee integration of new assets into the work order system for planned and preventive maintenance activities
- Define and communicate expectations and best practices for turnover procedures across departments
- Facilitate operational training and documentation handoffs to ensure seamless post-project support
