Senior Business Development Manager Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field
- A minimum of 10 years in business development with a proven track record of exceeding sales targets
- At least 2 years of experience selling engineering technology applications to public institutions
- Demonstrated success in securing six and seven-figure deals within a designated territory
- Familiarity with UK and European tendering and contracting procedures
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while achieving team objectives in the public sector
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with experience interacting with executive leadership
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple global locations
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to devise appropriate solutions for clients
- Fluency in English
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
Senior Business Development Manager Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within public institutions at the European or UK level
- Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders in public administration, ensuring a deep understanding of their needs to provide tailored solutions
- Develop and deliver compelling presentations that highlight the advantages of the products and services over competitors
- Oversee the preparation and coordination of bids and proposals, ensuring all documentation is thorough and submitted promptly
- Assist in contract and grant agreement negotiations, facilitating a smooth transition to the technical team post-signature
- Engage in all phases of the sales process, from initial contact to closing deals
- Collaborate with sales and technical teams to stay updated on product capabilities, success stories, and effective strategies
- Represent the company at industry events and conventions to promote our solutions.
- Organize and manage technical support for demonstrations, proofs of concept, evaluations, and training sessions
- Relay client feedback to product development and marketing teams to inform continuous improvement
