Fire Protection System Designer Requirements and Responsibilities
- 5+ years in sprinkler system design
- NFPA 13 knowledge
- NICET certification is HIGHLY desired – level 3
- AutoSPRINK, AutoCAD, and/or HydraCAD proficiency
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams and clients
- Strong problem-solving skills to address design challenges and ensure compliance with regulations
- Create detailed fire protection sprinkler system designs using CAD software and relevant tools
- Select appropriate sprinkler types, pipe sizes, and other system components to optimize performance
- Prepare design documentation: layout drawings, hydraulic calculations, and material lists
