Plant Controller
Manufacturing | Gordon, GA | Onsite | Relocation Candidates Welcome
We’re hiring a Plant Controller in Gordon, GA, to lead manufacturing accounting, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting and plant financial reporting for an established global manufacturer.
This opening follows an internal promotion. You’ll own the plant finance function, partner directly with operations and help drive decisions around costs, production and capital investments.
Location: This position works onsite in Gordon, GA. Candidates must live within commuting distance or be willing to relocate.
What You’ll Do
- Lead month-end close, general accounting, balance sheet reconciliations and GAAP financial reporting.
- Prepare annual plant budgets, monthly forecasts and operating performance reports.
- Analyze manufacturing costs, including labor, materials, overhead and distribution.
- Partner with plant leadership to identify cost savings and improve operational performance.
- Maintain inventory accuracy, investigate physical inventory adjustments and evaluate obsolete inventory.
- Support capital expenditure analysis and manage fixed assets and depreciation.
- Lead monthly plant financial reviews and participate in production floor walkthroughs.
- Maintain internal controls and support internal and external audits.
- Collaborate with corporate finance to improve accounting processes and reporting.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration.
- 5+ years of accounting or finance experience in manufacturing or mining.
- Strong manufacturing cost accounting experience. Standard costing experience preferred.
- Experience with month-end close, inventory accounting, budgeting and forecasting.
- Ability to translate financial results into practical recommendations for operations.
- Strong Excel, communication and analytical skills.
- Comfortable working independently and spending time on the plant floor.
- CPA or MBA preferred, not required.
- Ability to travel domestically up to 30%, with a valid driver’s license.
