Senior Marketing & Proposal Specialist
Location: Northern Virginia
Salary: $85,000–$100,000 annually

About the Opportunity
An established, multidisciplinary engineering and design consulting firm is seeking an experienced Senior Marketing & Proposal Specialist to support its marketing, communications, and business development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
Proposal Management & Business Development
- Manage and coordinate Requests for Qualifications (RFQs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and other competitive submissions for prime and subconsultant opportunities.
- Collaborate with business development leadership, technical professionals, and administrative teams to develop high-quality proposals.
- Coordinate proposal schedules, content development, production, and submission deadlines.
- Assist in identifying, tracking, and evaluating business development opportunities aligned with the firm's market sectors.
- Maintain marketing databases, project information, and business development opportunity reports.
Marketing & Communications
- Develop and manage marketing materials, including project profiles, staff resumes, qualifications packages, presentations, and promotional collateral.
- Collaborate with leadership and technical professionals to develop industry articles, digital newsletters, and marketing communications.
- Support corporate website planning, content development, and ongoing maintenance.
- Coordinate social media communications, including LinkedIn and other professional platforms.
- Assist with digital marketing campaigns, email marketing initiatives, and targeted communications.
Brand Development & Marketing Coordination
- Partner with marketing and business development leadership to support brand positioning and strategic initiatives.
- Coordinate marketing events, presentations, promotional materials, and communications projects.
- Ensure consistency, accuracy, and quality across marketing collateral and business development materials.
- Maintain and improve marketing resources, proposal content, and project databases.
- Work collaboratively across departments to support marketing initiatives and business development objectives.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of marketing or proposal coordination experience within the architecture, engineering, or construction (AEC) industry.
- Demonstrated experience preparing and coordinating RFQs, RFPs, and professional qualifications packages.
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, anticipate project needs, and meet deadlines.
- Highly collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively with technical professionals and senior leadership.
- Proactive, responsive work ethic and a strong sense of accountability.
- Experience participating in or working with professional industry associations such as SMPS, SAME, ACEC, CREW, or similar organizations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Deltek Vision or other CRM and marketing database platforms.
- Familiarity with marketing and business development practices within engineering or design consulting firms.
- Experience supporting pursuits involving public and private sector clients.
- Strong understanding of AEC proposal development, marketing collateral, and qualifications-based selection processes.
