Position Overview
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with at least 3 years of experience in mechanical systems design for buildings. The ideal candidate will design mechanical systems, develop construction documents, and collaborate with engineers, clients, and project teams from concept through construction.
Responsibilities
- Design mechanical systems for commercial and other building projects.
- Select equipment and develop mechanical plans, layouts, and specifications.
- Prepare and review construction drawings using Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM software.
- Coordinate with engineers, consultants, clients, and other project team members.
- Attend project meetings, conduct site visits, respond to RFIs, and review submittals.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable building, mechanical, plumbing, fire, energy, and fuel gas codes.
- Communicate with vendors and stay current on mechanical systems, technologies, and industry standards.
- Travel to project sites throughout Colorado and the surrounding region.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- At least 3 years of mechanical systems design experience.
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and related design software.
- Knowledge of building systems, construction documents, and applicable codes.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent work ethic, initiative, and attention to detail.
- E.I. certification and successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam are a plus.
