Our client is looking for a hands-on Tax Manager to own pass-through tax for their growing book of small business clients. You'll review and sign off on S-Corp, partnership, and LLC returns prepared by the offshore team, along with the owners' personal returns, and serve as a trusted advisor to business owners. This is a newly created, high-impact role with real ownership and a direct line to leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Review and sign off on federal and state pass-through returns prepared by junior and offshore staff:
- S-Corp returns (Form 1120-S)
- Partnership and multi-member LLC returns (Form 1065)
- K-1s, partner capital accounts, and income allocations
- Review individual returns (Form 1040) for business owners, including K-1 flow-through
- Manage multi-state filings, including composite returns and pass-through entity tax (PTET) elections
- Provide light tax advisory to small business owners on topics like:
- Entity selection and S-Corp elections
- Reasonable compensation and owner distributions
- Quarterly estimates and year-end planning
- Identify opportunities to improve and automate tax processes as the team scales
- Collaborate with the bookkeeping and CFO service teams to deliver a seamless client experience
Requirements:
- 5-10 years of US tax experience, ideally a mix of public accounting and in-house/private
- Strong S-Corp and partnership compliance and review background (Forms 1120-S and 1065)
- Experience serving small and mid-sized businesses and their owners
- Comfortable communicating directly with business owners in a clear, practical way
- CPA required

- Background at a regional or mid-size CPA firm with a strong small business practice
- Individual and high-net-worth (HNW) tax experience
- Multi-state pass-through and PTET experience
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary: $120,000–$150,000, based on experience
