Senior Warehouse Manager

Senior Warehouse Manager Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in warehouse, distribution, logistics, or supply chain operations
- At least 3 years managing warehouse teams in a high-volume environment
- Proven ability to lead supervisors and large hourly teams
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, shipping/receiving, and distribution
- Experience with WMS, ERP, or inventory-management systems
- Solid understanding of warehouse safety practices and regulations
- Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Senior Warehouse Manager Preferred Background & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Operations, or related field
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, or other continuous-improvement methodologies
- Experience managing automated warehouse or distribution-center operations
- Forklift or material-handling certification
- Experience with labor-management systems and KPI reporting
Senior Warehouse Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Lead warehouse operations including receiving, put-away, storage, picking, fulfillment, shipping, and returns
- Manage and develop supervisors, leads, hourly employees, and temporary staff
- Establish performance expectations and monitor productivity, accuracy, attendance, and KPIs
- Develop staffing plans and labor strategies to meet business needs
- Oversee inventory control, cycle counting, and accuracy, resolving discrepancies and operational issues
- Identify and implement improvements in layout, workflows, processes, and efficiency
- Promote safety culture ensuring compliance with OSHA and safety requirements
- Manage warehouse equipment and operating costs including labor and supplies
- Utilize and improve warehouse management and inventory systems
- Analyze operational data and provide reports and recommendations to senior leadership
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, cost reduction, and service
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional warehouse environment
