Mechanical Engineer
A mission-driven organization is seeking a facilities-focused Mechanical Engineer to support capital improvements, construction and renovation projects, daily facility operations, and mechanical building systems within a large-scale government environment. This role blends hands-on facilities engineering with project management, construction coordination, and technical oversight across complex building systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support projects from planning and design through construction and completion
- Support HVAC, plumbing, BAS/building controls, and mechanical building systems
- Manage capital improvement, renovation, and facility repair projects
- Coordinate construction, contractors, equipment installation, and maintenance activities
- Develop project scopes, specifications, drawings, and technical documentation
- Manage project budgets, bids, submittals, schedules, and vendor coordination
- Troubleshoot facility systems and provide technical support through project execution
- Utilize AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, and related building-design tools
Requirements:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- 3+ years of project management experience
- Hands-on mechanical building systems and facility project experience
- Experience within large commercial, industrial, or similarly complex facilities
- Strong mechanical/building systems knowledge
- Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph
Preferred: 5+ years of relevant experience, PE, PMP, Revit, building controls, construction, and mission-critical or federal facilities experience.
Compensation: $105K base
Work Arrangement: On-Site
This is a facilities-focused engineering position. Product design, manufacturing engineering, or R&D backgrounds without meaningful facilities/construction experience will not align with the role.
