Chemist
We are seeking an experienced Chemist to support the development and performance of advanced automotive coating products. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with experience in dispersion technology, coatings formulation, laboratory testing, and technical problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, develop, and test prototype dispersions and coating formulations.
- Conduct wet-paint and finished-coating testing, including spray-panel evaluations.
- Evaluate formulation performance and troubleshoot technical or process issues.
- Support manufacturing scale-up trials and recommend process improvements.
- Partner with technical, manufacturing, operations, commercial, and supplier teams.
- Apply root-cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
- Evaluate new raw materials, equipment, and technologies.
- Prepare technical reports and support continuous-improvement and new-product initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related science required.
- 2+ years of coatings, chemical, formulation, or laboratory experience.
- 3–10 years of dispersion technology experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with paints, coatings, pigments, dispersions, or related chemical formulations highly desirable.
- Ability to safely handle paints and chemicals and follow required PPE and laboratory procedures.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Compensation & Benefits
$65,000–$80,000 annually, based on experience and technical qualifications.
