About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to lead and oversee a growing, high-volume distribution operation supporting customers throughout the commercial and residential lighting industry.
This is an opportunity for a hands-on warehouse leader who enjoys a fast-paced environment, takes ownership of operations, and understands how to balance people, productivity, inventory, order fulfillment, shipping, and customer service.
The operation has experienced significant growth, creating the need for a manager who can bring structure, accountability, efficiency, and modern warehouse practices to an increasingly complex environment.
The Role
The Warehouse Manager will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day warehouse operation, including team leadership, inventory flow, receiving, picking, packing, shipping, deliveries, and process improvement.
The ideal candidate is someone who is comfortable being on the warehouse floor and actively engaged with the team, while also having the organizational and leadership skills to improve processes and plan for continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and manage warehouse personnel in a busy distribution environment.
- Oversee daily receiving, stocking, order picking, packing, shipping, and delivery activities.
- Maintain an organized and efficient warehouse with a broad range of products and customer requirements.
- Establish and maintain appropriate processes for inventory accuracy, product handling, order fulfillment, and shipment quality.
- Monitor workflow and staffing to ensure customer orders are processed accurately and efficiently.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce errors, minimize product damage, and streamline warehouse processes.
- Utilize warehouse technology, systems, and reporting tools to improve visibility and operational performance.
- Coordinate with transportation resources, drivers, carriers, and other partners as needed.
- Develop and maintain a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Train, coach, and develop employees while maintaining strong employee engagement and retention.
- Help prepare the operation for continued growth, including changes to warehouse space, processes, staffing, and technology.
- Partner with company leadership and other departments to resolve operational issues and improve overall customer service.
- Ensure warehouse activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company policies.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of progressive warehouse, distribution, or operations management experience.
- Experience managing a busy, high-volume warehouse or distribution operation.
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing warehouse teams.
- Strong understanding of receiving, inventory management, picking, packing, shipping, and order fulfillment.
- Experience managing a broad product assortment and multiple customer requirements.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on environment and leading from the floor.
- Experience using warehouse management systems, ERP systems, scanners, or other warehouse technology.
- Understanding of transportation, routing, delivery operations, or carrier relationships is a plus.
- Proven ability to identify inefficiencies and implement practical process improvements.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with employees, management, customers, and vendors.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and operate effectively in a growing business.
