SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER – MISSION CRITICAL / DATA CENTER

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Our client, a well-established electrical contractor with a national footprint, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale data center and critical facility projects. This is a highly visible, client-facing leadership role reporting to senior operations leadership. The ideal candidate is a relationship builder who can own projects from estimate through closeout, lead teams in the field and the office, and consistently deliver on safety, schedule, and budget. WHAT YOU'LL DO
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Own the full project lifecycle, from estimating and proposal review through execution and closeout.
- Build project scopes, budgets, schedules, and resource plans.
- Oversee execution to meet design intent, budget, and schedule goals.
- Visit jobsites regularly to track progress, resolve issues, and support field leadership.
- Lead a strong safety culture and make sure all company, client, and project requirements are followed.
Financial Management
- Forecast project financials and adjust course early when needed.
- Drive timely billing and strong cash flow on every project.
- Manage RFPs, change orders, and change management documentation.
- Partner with leadership to plan future labor and material needs.
Client, Team & Vendor Coordination
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, keeping expectations clear before, during, and after construction.
- Coordinate internal staff and subcontractors across multiple scopes.
- Work with vendors and suppliers to keep procurement and deliveries on schedule.
- Provide regular status reports and updates to senior leadership.
People Development
- Mentor project managers, engineers, and coordinators to help them grow.
- Build strong, lasting relationships with clients and employees.
- Bring a personal commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
WHAT YOU BRING
Required
- 10+ years of construction project management experience.
- 5+ years managing electrical projects on large, complex IT, telecom, or data center infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with data center electrical distribution, structured cabling, and white space build-outs.
- Experience with retrofit work in live, operating facilities and coordination of multi-discipline critical systems.
- Strong scheduling, delegation, and organizational skills.
- Calm, solutions-focused approach under tight deadlines and outside pressure.
- Professional conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. full-time without sponsorship. Visa sponsorship (including H-1B) is not available.
Preferred
- Mission critical project experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, Business, or a related field, OR an equivalent combination of experience, certifications, and licensing (such as a journeyman or master electrician license).
- PMP or PMI-SP certification.
- Experience with construction accounting/ERP and electrical estimating software, plus Microsoft Office.
