A leading nonprofit cultural and industry organization focused on media, entertainment, technology, and culture is seeking a Director, Industry Membership to drive membership growth while cultivating, stewarding, and retaining relationships with senior executives across the industry. This highly visible role will serve as a primary external-facing representative, developing strategic relationships with C-suite leaders, identifying new membership opportunities, and ensuring existing members receive a high level of engagement and value. The Director will combine business development, membership cultivation and stewardship, relationship management, industry networking, and strategic planning to expand the membership pipeline and build long-term executive relationships.

Requirements & Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in fundraising, media sales, business development, membership development, or a related field
- Proven success acquiring, cultivating, stewarding, and retaining high-level members, donors, clients, or strategic partners
- Demonstrated ability to develop long-term relationships with C-suite and senior executives
- Proven track record of growing membership, enrollment, partnerships, or a comparable relationship-based portfolio
- Established network of senior-level contacts within the media, entertainment, technology, sports, or related industries
- Strong understanding of the media landscape, including television, cable, digital publishers, advertising agencies, radio, technology, and media ownership groups
- Ability to create meaningful engagement strategies that demonstrate value and encourage long-term member retention
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
- Executive presence with a polished, personable, and professional demeanor
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and strategic initiatives
- Self-starter who is comfortable prospecting, networking, attending industry events, and representing an organization externally
- Strong business development mindset with the ability to translate relationships into measurable membership growth and retention
- Bachelor's degree required
- Ability to work onsite five days per week
Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience managing the full membership lifecycle, from prospecting and acquisition through cultivation, stewardship, renewal, and retention
- Experience growing executive, corporate, institutional, or professional memberships
- Background in media, television, cable, entertainment, technology, sports, or advertising
- Experience with nonprofit, museum, cultural institution, library, tourism, or visitor bureau membership programs
- Existing relationships with senior executives in television, cable, programming, media, or technology
- Experience developing strategic partnerships, sponsorships, executive councils, or industry communities
- Experience hosting or representing an organization at high-profile industry events and executive gatherings
- Strong understanding of relationship management and the ability to identify opportunities for deeper member engagement
- Proficiency with Airtable and Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus
