A growing boutique law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Litigation Attorney to join its civil and commercial litigation practice. The ideal candidate will have hands-on litigation experience and the ability to manage assigned matters with support from experienced attorneys and legal staff.
Associate Attorney Responsibilities:
- Manage assigned civil and commercial litigation matters from case assessment through settlement, mediation, arbitration or trial
- Handle a diverse caseload involving construction, real estate, breach of contract, business disputes, general liability/personal injury and mechanic's liens
- Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, settlement agreements, contracts and related filings
- Conduct discovery and case preparation, including depositions, document review, subpoenas, expert coordination and witness preparation
- Represent clients in litigation proceedings, including hearings, negotiations, mediation, arbitration and trial preparation
- Communicate directly with clients and collaborate with senior attorneys and legal staff regarding case strategy, status, legal issues and potential outcomes
Associate Attorney Requirements:
- 3–7 years of civil and/or commercial litigation experience
- Active Colorado Bar admission and eligibility to practice in Colorado
- Hands-on experience managing litigation matters through multiple phases of the litigation process
- Experience with construction, real estate, commercial/business disputes, contract litigation, general liability or mechanic's liens preferred
- 1st or 2nd chair trial experience preferred, along with experience handling depositions, discovery, motion practice, hearings, mediation and settlement negotiations
- Strong legal research, writing, analytical, communication and client-service skills, with the ability to work independently and seek guidance when appropriate
