A well-established and growing chef-driven restaurant group is seeking a polished, hands-on Assistant General Manager to join its leadership team at one of its highest-volume locations on the North Shore.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced restaurant leader who enjoys being on the floor, developing people, delivering exceptional hospitality, and playing an active role in the day-to-day success of a busy restaurant.
The ideal candidate will have experience in an upscale-casual, full-service, or chef-driven restaurant environment and understand what it takes to lead a team in a high-volume operation.
What You’ll Do
• Partner with the General Manager to lead, coach, and develop the restaurant team
• Take a hands-on leadership role during service and ensure smooth FOH execution
• Maintain high standards for hospitality, professionalism, and guest service
• Assist with recruiting, interviewing, training, scheduling, and performance management
• Manage staffing and labor levels based on business volume
• Handle guest concerns and service recovery with professionalism and urgency
• Assist with inventory, cost control, cash handling, and daily financial performance
• Oversee reservations and guest flow while maintaining a strong presence throughout the restaurant
• Help coordinate special events, promotions, and community initiatives
• Ensure cleanliness, safety, sanitation, and operational standards are consistently maintained
• Step in as a key management resource when the General Manager is not on site
What We’re Looking For
• At least 3 years of restaurant supervisory/management experience
• 1–2 years of experience as an Assistant General Manager is preferred
• Strong background in upscale-casual, full-service, or chef-driven restaurants
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate a restaurant team
• Strong understanding of labor management, cost control, inventory, and restaurant financials
• Excellent guest-recovery and communication skills
• Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
• Tech-savvy and able to learn new systems quickly
• Experience with Toast, RESY, or similar restaurant technology is a plus
• Strong beverage and wine knowledge is preferred
• Polished, professional, charismatic, and highly hands-on leadership style
This is a working management position for someone who enjoys being involved in the operation and leading from the floor. The restaurant typically operates at a very high volume during peak season, so the ability to remain calm, organized, and solutions-oriented under pressure is essential.
Compensation & Benefits
• $80,000–$90,000 base salary, based on experience
• Additional 2% revenue bonus paid quarterly
