A premier full-service convention hotel in Louisville, KY, is seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to lead the engineering and maintenance operations of this large-scale property. Director of Engineering Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive engineering/maintenance experience, preferably in a large hotel or resort
- Previous Engineering leadership/management experience required
- Experience with 500+ guest rooms; large convention hotel experience is required
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building systems
- Experience managing preventive maintenance programs
- Capital project and renovation experience
- Strong knowledge of fire/life-safety systems, building codes, and regulatory compliance
- Experience leading and developing a large engineering team
- Strong budgeting, vendor, and contractor management experience
Director of Engineering Responsibilities:
- Oversee all Engineering and Maintenance operations for the property
- Develop and manage a comprehensive preventive maintenance program
- Ensure guestrooms, meeting spaces, public areas, F&B outlets, and back-of-house areas are properly maintained
- Lead, coach, and develop the Engineering team while maintaining accountability and productivity
- Manage engineering budgets, capital projects, contractors, and vendors
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and building regulations
- Respond to emergency maintenance and building-system issues
- Partner with hotel leadership and other departments to ensure a safe, well-maintained property and exceptional guest experience
