Food Retail Marketing Director Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of progressive marketing experience, including people management
- Demonstrated experience with hospitality, food & beverage, or multi-unit marketing
- Proficiency in hands-on design work, especially using Adobe Creative Cloud
- Proven success in managing marketing budgets and paid media campaigns
- Experience with digital marketing channels (social, email, web, SEO, paid media)
- Strong copywriting, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Public Relations or related field strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of website CMS (WordPress), Shopify, Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads/Analytics, and Google Workspace
Food Retail Marketing Director Preferred Background & Skills
- Marketing experience with more than one brand simultaneously
- Multi-unit restaurant, CPG, or food and beverage industry background
- Short-form video editing (Premiere, CapCut, or similar) and Canva familiarity
- Project management tool experience (e.g., Monday)
- Established press, media, or creator relationships
- Local knowledge of the Austin market, including media and community events
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
Food Retail Marketing Director Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Develop, own, and execute marketing and brand strategy for multiple retail concepts
- Lead annual campaign planning, creative direction, and content production
- Produce in-house design, own brand standards, and manage signage and promotional materials across all locations
- Oversee social media channels, content calendars, email marketing, and website management
- Analyze campaign performance and channel effectiveness to optimize spend and results
- Foster community and business partnerships, serving as a brand ambassador
- Lead and develop the marketing team, setting priorities and managing workload
- Collaborate closely with operations, production, finance, and other departments to ensure seamless campaign execution and store-level impact
