Campaign Finance & Government Ethics Associate Attorney
Location: Washington, D.C.
A highly regarded national law firm is seeking an experienced attorney to join its Washington, D.C. regulatory practice. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney with a strong background advising sophisticated clients on the laws and regulations governing political activity, interactions with public officials, and related compliance matters.
The attorney will handle a varied counseling and compliance practice involving campaign finance, government ethics, lobbying regulations, political contributions, gifts and entertainment, and other restrictions affecting corporations, executives, political organizations, and regulated entities.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant legal experience, ideally within a sophisticated law firm or comparable regulatory practice
- Active admission to practice in Washington, D.C.
- Substantive experience with campaign finance and political activity regulations
- Experience advising on government ethics and lobbying compliance
- Familiarity with gift, entertainment, political contribution, and pay-to-play restrictions
- Strong legal research, analysis, and writing skills
- Excellent academic credentials
- Ability to independently manage sophisticated matters while working collaboratively across a broader team
- Experience supervising matters or junior attorneys is preferred
