Director of Operations

Director of Operations Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 4–5+ years of proven McDonald’s multi-unit leadership experience
- Significant tenure operating within the McDonald’s system at an organizational scale
- Demonstrated success managing multiple restaurants and sizable leadership teams
- Strong command of P&L performance, labor management, food cost control, staffing, guest experience, and company standards
- Deep understanding of McDonald’s systems, corporate expectations, and operating standards
- Exceptional relationship-building skills across all levels, including leadership, ownership, and partners
- High personal accountability and strong sense of ownership for performance results
- Excellent judgment and decision-making in complex people and operational matters
- Complete transparency with ownership, providing clear context and actionable recommendations
- Ability to operate independently and solve challenges proactively
- Track record of developing managers, multi-unit leaders, and future organizational talent
Director of Operations Preferred Background & Skills
- Hamburger University certification preferred
- Previous experience at the General Manager, Area Supervisor, or Director level within the McDonald’s system
Director of Operations Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to Restaurant General Managers across multiple locations
- Analyze P&L statements, sales trends, and key financial metrics to drive profitable performance
- Develop and execute business plans to achieve operational and financial goals
- Coach and mentor managers, building a pipeline of future leaders
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety, cleanliness, service, and operational standards
- Conduct regular site visits, operational reviews, and performance evaluations
- Partner with ownership on strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting
- Support recruiting, retention, and talent development initiatives
- Promote a positive culture focused on guest satisfaction and team engagement
