Director of Grants & Impact Investments Benefits

Director of Grants & Impact Investments Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in grantmaking, investment management, impact investing, or impact advisory roles, with demonstrated experience in both grants and impact investments
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
- Extensive knowledge of the St. Louis community, economic, philanthropic, and civic landscape, with established local relationships strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate, structure, and monitor grants, impact investments, and Program Related Investments
- Exceptional relationship-building, communication, presentation, and executive presence skills
- Experience leading and developing a small team and managing consultants or external partners
- Highly organized, entrepreneurial, self-directed, discreet, and comfortable taking initiative in an environment where you are expected to hit the ground running; experience with CRM systems, including HubSpot
Director of Grants & Impact Investments Responsibilities
- Lead the annual grantmaking and impact investment process, ensuring portfolios align with strategic objectives, funding priorities, and organizational goals
- Develop grant programs, calls for proposals, and funding strategies aligned with the Foundation’s mission and priorities
- Identify, evaluate, recommend, and monitor strategic impact investments that have the potential to generate meaningful social and financial returns
- Conduct and oversee prospecting, due diligence, vetting, selection, grant administration, investment processes, and ongoing portfolio monitoring
- Cultivate trusted, long-term relationships with grantees and investees and provide guidance that supports successful outcomes
- Partner with learning and evaluation staff to assess impact, strengthen measurement practices, and communicate portfolio results to internal and external stakeholders
- Supervise program staff, manage consultants as needed, and collaborate with senior leadership and the Board’s Impact Investment Committee on strategy, approvals, reporting, and continuous improvement
