Superintendent Requirements & Qualifications
- Four-year engineering degree or equivalent combination of technical training and experience
- Minimum of 8 years supervisory experience in facility construction, including an advanced understanding of scheduling, methods, and cost control
- Advanced understanding of construction scheduling, technology, methods, cost control and ability to control and supervise large groups essential.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- In-depth knowledge of construction technology, equipment, tools, and work procedures
- Thorough knowledge of corporate policies and procedures
- Valid driver's license
Superintendent Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience mentoring apprentices or supporting craft training programs
- Bilingual abilities
- Familiarity with modern construction management software
Superintendent Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and supervise multiple projects or a large construction site, coordinating all craft and field activities
- Lead, mentor, and manage foremen, lead technicians, and craft teams to meet project goals and maintain a culture of safety and craftsmanship
- Oversee site operations, ensuring schedules, budgets, and quality standards are met
- Foster collaborative relationships with internal teams, clients, and other contractors
- Provide technical guidance and problem-solving, interpreting drawings, and recommending construction methods as needed
- Compliance with all safety programs, corporate policies, and housekeeping standards
- Cured-in-Place Pipe (CIPP) technology experience
- Manage documentation, contracts, and financial aspects to protect company interests and support positive client relationships
