Director of Catering Sales

Director of Catering Sales Benefits & Compensation
- Base salary: $120,000–$125,000 annually

Director of Catering Sales Requirements & Qualifications
- 5–7+ years of progressive experience in catering sales or event planning, ideally with hotels, luxury venues, or elevated hospitality settings
- Proven success driving catering revenue, generating new business, converting leads, and nurturing repeat clients
- Solid understanding of food & beverage operations, banquet service, menu development, and event execution
- Strong proficiency with CRM platforms, event planning software, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Polished communication, organization, and presentation skills
- Availability for client meetings and events during evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Director of Catering Sales Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience managing multiple event types and priorities simultaneously
- Track record as a proactive, sales-driven leader who excels in relationship building
- Ability to collaborate across culinary, operations, marketing, finance, and leadership teams
- Highly detail-oriented with creative, solution-focused mindset
Director of Catering Sales Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive catering sales strategies to drive revenue, profitability, and market share
- Identify, cultivate, and close new business opportunities across corporate, social, wedding, and nonprofit segments
- Conduct site tours, presentations, tastings, and client meetings, showcasing the property’s event capabilities
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline through prospecting, networking, and community engagement
- Collaborate with culinary and operations teams to ensure seamless event planning and flawless execution
- Ensure accurate preparation of proposals, contracts, Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), and related documentation
- Mentor and support junior team members where applicable
- Represent the organization at industry events, networking functions, and community activities
