Manufacturing Director of Operations Requirements:
- 10+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing and operations.
- Background within cable assemblies, wire harnesses, electrical products, industrial electronics, or closely related manufacturing strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multiple operational functions, including manufacturing, production planning, supply chain, purchasing, inventory, and logistics.
- Strong knowledge of cable and wire assembly manufacturing processes.
- Proven success improving operational efficiency, reducing costs, managing inventory, and elevating production performance.
- Ability to interpret customer drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and technical documents.
- Experience with ERP/MRP and manufacturing systems.
Manufacturing Director of Operations Preferred Background & Skills:
- Familiarity with cable and wire harness quality standards; IPC/WHMA-A-620 experience preferred.
- Prior experience leading team development and building a culture of accountability.
- Effective communicator with a hands-on and strategic leadership style.
- Strong problem-solving and customer partnership skills.
Manufacturing Director of Operations Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership across manufacturing, production planning, purchasing, inventory, warehouse, shipping/receiving, and supply chain operations.
- Develop and execute production plans to meet customer, quality, budget, and delivery targets.
- Mentor, develop, and manage managers, supervisors, and production employees.
- Identify and implement improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize waste.
- Oversee vendor performance, procurement strategies, material availability, and inventory levels.
- Establish and monitor KPIs for productivity, quality, delivery, labor efficiency, and profitability.
- Collaborate closely with sales, engineering, and production teams to meet customer requirements.
- Support ongoing budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and continuous improvement initiatives.
