Service Manager Responsibilities
- Lead daily front-of-house operations and maintain exceptional service standards.
- Lead pre-shift meetings and ensure the team is prepared for each service.
- Train, coach, and develop front-of-house staff while fostering a positive, accountable team culture.
- Maintain strong floor presence, overseeing pacing, table management, and execution of service standards.
- Engage with guests throughout service, resolve concerns, and create memorable hospitality experiences.
- Partner with kitchen and management teams to ensure seamless communication and service.
- Support reservations, staffing, opening/closing procedures, and overall restaurant operations.
- Maintain strong food, beverage, and wine knowledge and help develop the team's expertise.
Service Manager Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of management experience in a full-service restaurant.
- Proven ability to lead high-caliber service in an upscale or fine dining environment.
- Strong hospitality, leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
- Experience with wine sales and beverage service.
- Ability to remain composed under pressure and solve problems quickly.
- Proficiency with POS and reservation systems, with the ability to support the host/Maître D function.
- Knowledge of NYC health, safety, and food protection regulations.
- NYC Food Protection Certificate preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
