HVAC Lead Installer

Position Overview
The HVAC Lead Installer is responsible for leading residential HVAC installation projects from start to finish while delivering exceptional workmanship and customer service. This individual serves as the lead technician on residential and light commercial installations, mentors junior installers, ensures projects stay on schedule and within labor budgets, and represents the company professionally in customers' homes. Success in this role requires strong technical expertise, leadership, and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.

Responsibilities
- Lead residential HVAC installation projects from start to finish.
- Install furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, mini-split systems, and related HVAC equipment.
- Coordinate jobsite activities while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Read installation plans and ensure work meets code and company specifications.
- Train and mentor apprentice and junior HVAC installers.
- Troubleshoot installation issues and provide field solutions.
- Communicate professionally with homeowners throughout the installation process.
- Educate customers on equipment operation and preventative maintenance.
- Complete job documentation, timecards, and installation paperwork accurately.
- Manage labor hours and help keep projects on budget.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Work collaboratively with service technicians, dispatch, and project leadership.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of residential HVAC installation experience
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Experience installing:
- Forced-air furnaces
- Air conditioning systems
- Mini-split systems
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Comfortable using tablets and mobile technology
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to climb ladders and perform physical work
- Leadership mindset with willingness to train others
- Ability to explain HVAC options and educate homeowners
- Stable work history (2+ years with recent employers preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
- EPA Universal Certification
- NATE Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Residential boiler installation experience
- Light commercial HVAC installation experience
- Preventative maintenance knowledge
- Low-voltage wiring experience
