Project Manager Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience coordinating and managing projects for fire alarm companies or related industries.
- Ability to interpret and review contract documents, proposals, engineering specifications, drawings, and schedules.
- Skilled at planning and overseeing multiple technical installation projects simultaneously.
- Proven experience serving as a primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, engineers, and internal teams.
- Strong budgeting, cost estimation, and financial tracking abilities.
- Willingness to conduct site visits, attend meetings, and document findings in detail.
- Capable of managing procurement, scheduling, and coordination of materials and resources.
- Committed to maintaining quality, safety, and compliance on active job sites.
Project Manager Preferred Background & Skills
- Prior experience with fire alarm installation or related low-voltage systems.
- Familiarity with construction management software or project documentation tools.
- Effective communication and documentation skills.
Project Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Review project documents to ensure a thorough understanding of technical and contractual requirements.
- Plan, schedule, and oversee multiple installation and programming projects to meet timelines and quality standards.
- Serve as the main client and subcontractor contact, maintaining clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Estimate costs, monitor budgets, labor hours, and ensure financial targets are met.
- Attend site meetings, perform walkthroughs, and provide regular project updates and reports.
- Coordinate and document procurement, material deliveries, and installation logistics.
- Ensure project documentation is accurate and up-to-date, including schedules, changes, and as-built records.
- Support team training and play an active role in continuous improvement and project closeout.
