Vice President of Finance
A leading multi-entity organization is seeking a Vice President of Finance to serve as the strategic finance partner to ownership. Requirements & Qualifications
- Prior experience as VP of Finance, Director of Finance, CFO, or similar senior finance leadership in a privately held, multi-entity environment
- Demonstrated expertise guiding strategic finance decisions, capital allocation, and growth analysis
- In-depth background in grocery, supermarket, retail, wholesale, food distribution, or other high-volume operational businesses
- Experience with real estate owner/operator, developer, family office, or commercial lending is highly valued
- Strong Excel and financial modeling skills, with proficiency in building and interpreting cash flow forecasts
- Proven track record working across multiple entities and coordinating with Controllers, accounting teams, and outside advisors
- Ability to clearly communicate complex financial information with ownership, banks, and lenders
Preferred Background & Skills
- CPA, MBA, or experience in public accounting, banking, or lending, paired with hands-on private company expertise
- Familiarity with both supermarket/retail financials and real estate portfolio analysis
- Experience preparing decision memos that outline risks, upsides, and strategic recommendations
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Advise ownership on optimal allocation of cash, credit, debt, and equity across supermarket and real estate ventures
- Evaluate acquisitions, refinancing, capex, debt structure, and liquidity decisions for multiple entities
- Analyze new store openings, lease vs. own scenarios, and store-level profitability to drive growth
- Support real estate acquisition and disposition decisions, including mortgage structuring and property cash flow analysis
- Build dynamic financial models, cash flow forecasts, and dashboards to accelerate executive decision-making
- Collaborate with Controllers and accounting staff to elevate reporting quality and financial controls without duplicating their work
- Represent the company in discussions with banks, lenders, external CPAs, and attorneys
