Midlevel Corporate M&A Associate
An established, nationally respected law firm is seeking a midlevel associate to join its corporate group with a focus on mid-market mergers and acquisitions. This is a unique opportunity to advise a diverse client base of private companies, strategic buyers, and investors across a wide range of industries, while growing under the mentorship of experienced partners and gaining hands-on responsibility on deal teams.
Midlevel Corporate M&A Associate Benefits & Compensation
- Competitive annual base salary ($215,000–$290,000), commensurate with experience

Midlevel Corporate M&A Associate Requirements & Qualifications
- 3–5 years of M&A experience at a law firm
- Experience supporting private company mergers and acquisitions is preferred
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active admission to practice in California
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to handle multiple workstreams within collaborative, deal-oriented teams
- Demonstrated interest in transactional practice and advising on complex corporate matters
Midlevel Corporate M&A Associate Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience managing aspects of buy-side and sell-side transactions for strategic and private clients
- Strong relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders
Midlevel Corporate M&A Associate Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Support mid-market mergers and acquisitions, including both buy-side and sell-side deals
- Assist with transaction structuring, due diligence, negotiation, and closing processes
- Draft and negotiate purchase agreements, disclosure schedules, and related documentation
- Coordinate due diligence and manage multiple deal workstreams across transaction teams
- Advise clients on corporate governance and transactional matters associated with M&A
- Work closely with partners, senior associates, and clients to ensure timely, high-quality deal execution
- Collaborate with attorneys firmwide in tax, real estate, employment, intellectual property, and technology transactions
