Our client is seeking a Director of Operations to lead a growing, highly regulated retail business. This is a rare opportunity to partner directly with the CEO and build the systems, accountability, and operational discipline that will support future expansion.
The Director of Operations will oversee the day-to-day business while creating the management systems that drive consistency, profitability, and exceptional customer experiences. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who enjoys building teams, improving processes, coaching managers, and turning strategy into execution.

Responsibilities
- Own the company's operational performance, including P&L management, labor planning, budgeting, KPI reporting, and operational execution.
- Lead, coach, and develop the General Manager and Assistant Store Managers while building accountability, improving performance, and ensuring exceptional execution throughout the operation.
- Create, implement, and continuously improve SOPs, operational systems, reporting, and leadership routines that support consistency, compliance, and scalability.
- Drive cross-functional initiatives including delivery launch, technology implementations, operational improvements, vendor management, staffing optimization, and process improvement.
- Partner closely with the CEO to identify opportunities, solve operational challenges, improve profitability, and build scalable systems that support future growth.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of operations leadership experience within retail operations or another high-volume customer-focused environment.
- Proven success managing managers while developing high-performing teams and creating a culture of accountability.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&Ls, labor costs, budgets, forecasting, and operational KPIs.
- Demonstrated experience building systems, improving operational efficiency, and implementing processes that scale with business growth.
- Must be at least 21 years of age and authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience working within a regulated industry such as cannabis, healthcare, alcohol, financial services, or pharmaceuticals.
- Experience launching new operational initiatives including delivery, logistics, technology platforms, or multi-department projects.
- Familiarity with EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) or similar operating frameworks.
- Comfortable utilizing technology, AI tools, and operational software to improve productivity and decision-making.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence executives, managers, and staff across the organization.
