Mechanical Design Engineer | Charlotte, NC

Design Engineer Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components and systems from concept through production
- Create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings using NX CAD or similar software
- Develop prototypes, conduct testing, and implement design improvements based on test results
- Perform structural analysis and support lightweight mechanical design using FEA tools such as ANSYS
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing to ensure designs are practical, reliable, and manufacturable
- Work with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate mechanical systems into advanced vehicle platforms
- Support product validation, troubleshooting, and continuous product improvement
- Interface with customers and government stakeholders to support technical discussions, testing, and product implementation
Design Engineer Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- 3+ years of mechanical design experience within the motorsports, defense, military, or automotive industries
- Strong experience with 3D CAD software (NX preferred)
- Experience using ANSYS or similar FEA software for structural analysis
- Experience designing products from concept through manufacturing
- Prototype development, testing, and design validation experience
- Strong understanding of structural design, load paths, and mechanical systems
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills in a collaborative engineering environment
- Must be eligible to work on ITAR-regulated programs (U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, or U.S. Person)
