What You'll Do
- Prepare detailed estimates and customer quotations for custom automation, tooling, fixtures, and workholding projects.
- Review RFQs, statements of work, engineering drawings, and customer specifications to develop accurate project costs.
- Collaborate with sales, engineering, designers, and shop personnel to develop practical manufacturing concepts.
- Communicate with customers to clarify project requirements and ensure complete project scope.
- Obtain supplier pricing and lead times for purchased components.
- Analyze labor, material, machining, and manufacturing costs to develop competitive proposals.
- Maintain historical cost data and stay current on manufacturing technologies that improve project value.
- Manage multiple estimates simultaneously while meeting customer deadlines.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of manufacturing, tooling, engineering, purchasing, planning, or estimating experience.
- Experience estimating custom automation equipment, fixtures, tooling, or workholding solutions.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical control systems.
- Experience with SolidWorks 3D CAD and Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Engineering degree preferred but not required with relevant industry experience.
