Restaurant Assistant General Manager Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of restaurant management experience in a quick-service or fast-casual environment
- Demonstrated hands-on leadership with experience hiring, coaching, and developing teams
- Experience managing fryer-based operations
- Strong working knowledge of restaurant financials, including P&L, food cost, and labor expenses
- Ability to create and manage employee schedules aligned with business needs
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be ServSafe certifiable
Restaurant Assistant General Manager Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience as an Assistant General Manager or high-level Assistant Manager
- Dairy Queen experience is a plus
- Background in budgeting, forecasting, and driving sales growth
- Proven success improving restaurant performance and guest satisfaction
Restaurant Assistant General Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Lead all daily restaurant operations, maintaining food quality, service, cleanliness, and efficiency
- Manage inventory, ordering, food cost, labor, and other controllable expenses
- Recruit, hire, onboard, train, and develop employees while fostering a high-performance culture
- Build and oversee schedules to balance guest demand with labor goals
- Monitor restaurant financial performance, analyze operational trends, and drive profitability
- Ensure compliance with brand standards, food safety regulations, and company policies
- Deliver exceptional guest service and resolve concerns professionally
- Partner with ownership to set and achieve short- and long-term restaurant goals
