Our client is a respected nonprofit legal services organization committed to expanding access to justice for underserved communities across Colorado. They are seeking a Managing Attorney to lead a specialized Workers' Rights Division that provides legal advocacy in employment, civil rights, and related matters. This leadership role combines direct legal representation with team supervision, program management, community engagement, and strategic planning to deliver high-quality legal services while mentoring staff and strengthening community partnerships.
Managing Attorney Responsibilities:
- Lead, supervise, mentor, and evaluate attorneys, legal support staff, and outreach personnel while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team.
- Manage a reduced litigation caseload involving employment, civil rights, and related legal matters before state and federal courts and administrative agencies.
- Oversee program operations, client intake, case strategy, compliance, and quality assurance.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with community organizations, advocacy groups, and service providers through outreach and education.
- Support strategic planning, grant reporting, staff development, and organizational leadership initiatives.
Managing Attorney Qualifications:
- Active Colorado law license (or ability to obtain one promptly).
- Fluency in both English and Spanish (written and spoken).
- Experience in employment law, civil rights litigation, or closely related practice areas.
- Demonstrated leadership, supervisory, and team development experience.
- Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and relationship-building skills.
Managing Attorney Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with humanitarian immigration matters or related legal services.
- Background working with underserved, multilingual, or culturally diverse communities.
- Experience leading community outreach or public education initiatives.
- Trauma-informed approach to client advocacy and staff leadership.
